Security Officers Meeting Empty Security Officers Meeting

    Post by Django 15.01.13 16:07

Rejan checked his wrist watch as he approached the Lux's officers meeting room. 4:45 pm. I'm a little early but it will do. He was always a man of order and being exactly on schedule. One being a minute late or early could set all kinds of things in motion for good or ill.

Dress in his clean white Navel officers uniform with his service pistol strapped on his belt cross drawing style. Rejan straighten his tie one last time before entering the meeting room. The white room had a wood oak U shaped table with thirteen seats lining along it, at the end of the table and on the wall was a screen for displaying just about thing important.

Rejan took a seat at the table and removed his peaked cap off and pulled his note pad out. While fresh from officers training and not being a full time security officer. He was far from green in this sort of job.

Mishka checked hi VeX for what was probably the hundredth time in the last hour to make sure he would be on time to the security meeting.

Good, good, I'm still about ten minutes early. It'd be in horribly bad taste if I was late to something like this... Oh but I hope I'm not the first one in either, I hate being TOO early for gatherings... I'm sure I'll be fine, no worries Mishka, you're gonna be fine.

Before entering the door, he straightened out his sleeveless turtleneck and brushed off his slacks. The pants weren't particularly comfortable but jeans seemed a bit too informal for a meeting of his working peers. He placed his hand over his chest and idly rubbed the inverted triangle that was patched into all of his shirts, smiling, he entered the room to be greeted by a very large table and a fox.

The man looked to be much more experience than Mishka and for a moment he felt a twinge of nervousness at the thought of being the newest to something like this.

Finding a seat diagonally from the fox he gave a small nod and a soft 'Good afternoon, Sir.'

Kaiden quickly walked to the Bridge, side-stepping people who happened to be in his way and taking what seemed to be shortcuts across to the Conference Room. He checked his VeX once, as he cursed having to speed-walk to such an important meeting. He was thinking about what happened earlier today, as he was thinking of a certain fox that managed to essentially take him out of his usual balance. Why do I keep on getting myself in these situations? He thought. I shouldn't be even thinking about this, it's not right, it's much too early. And yet he constantly thought about her, the thoughts making him both anxious and somewhat excited at the same time.

He shook away his thoughts, as he was approaching the Conference room and after checking his VeX the second time he has realized that he is in fact early. Barely. The clock on the screen was showing 4:55 with a notification informing him about the meeting. He grumbled as he switched off the now redundant alarm. Yes, yes! I know! I am here alright? He thought in his head, scolding himself once more for almost not making it on time. He was standing in front of the door, as he straightened out his shirt and brushed his Hexaqua Kevlar vest briefly, getting rid of any impurities on his clothing. Instead of his usual Graphite shirt he was wearing a blue one instead, and a pair of black suit trousers to match. First appearance is important. Now, let's rock. He thought as he stepped into the room, now full of his usual confidence.

As he stepped inside and closed the door behind him, he noticed everyone in the room and gave each of them them a polite nod that came with a smile. "Evening fellow officers." He spoke in a polite, but somewhat proud tone, showing dignity and seriousness. He took a seat on one of the seats by the table and started to glance around the room, noticing the screen, before looking back at everyone in turn. He looked over to Rejan and noticed he had a notepad, as he put two and two together. Must be new to the job. He thought as he smiled politely to him, while awaiting the meeting to start.

Edit: GM decision, to include a whole group of NPCs in the meeting instead of just two people.

//GM: Let's assume there are other officers present as well. They can be played as NPC's according to normal rules.//

Rawk, being a punctual man, had been waiting in the officers lounge for more than half an hour. He wanted to be exactly on time, for this was official bussines. However menial it was. A team-building meeting. Introductions and somesuch. Rawk would have preferred to be sparring in the barracks or shouting at lower ranks. Tedious chain of command. He had to obey it just like everyone else.

He walked to the door of the conference room, and stood there, looking at his old-fashioned wristwatch, until the time was exact.

    Then he stepped in.

    "Good evening fellow officers..."

He spoke with his raspy, dry voice, loudly and with a strict tone.

"I am lieutenant Rawk Heuressein, and I am responsible for organizing thos meeting. This is both an introduction and presentation for you and me. We have to know eachother to work together. Simple."

While he spoke, he moved graciously to hus seat, sat down and stared at each and everyone in the room. His stare was intense, and in a strange way, violent.

"So, let's begin with the introductions... I'll start."

Rawk didn't give anyone time to cut in. His speech was planned and his time scarce. He had innocent civilians to stare at.

"A veteran of OCG-IDEF wars, special forces, military career of too many years behind me, I have finally been stationed far from any real action to rot away on this ship. Some of you might have heard stories of me, some of you might have no idea who the heck I am, but currebtly it is not very relevant."

Rawk was also a straightforward man. He spoke with honesty. After staring intently at the people in the room, he had reached his conclusion. Most were inexperienced, some had that certain look of a combat veteran in their stature.

    "Next! Whoever is fastest."

Rawks order was directed at all the other officers in the room.

When Rawk entered the room, Mishka tried his best not to let his ears fold back, though they desperately twitched to do so. The man had a deafeningly strong presence and it was best to attempt not showing weakness. When he barked the order of 'Next!' Mishka's ears immediately pricked forward and took this as an opportunity to hopefully prove himself.

"Mishka Foreniur, Sir! Born of Wera with little training but plenty of street experience. I acted where police wouldn't on my planet but I'm still very green in the field and would like this opportunity to hone my skills to better the life of those on Wera who didn't live as I did."

Mishka held his breath and looked to the Lieutenant for some sort of approval, though, in his head, he severely doubted that this man approved of anything. Let alone what some greenhorn such as himself had to say, but keeping his posture erect, he slowly let out the breath he held and waited to here the other introductions from the men and women seated at the table before him.

Rejan managed to get a hand shake and a welcome to both Kaiden and Mishka Before Rawk entered the room. To surmise to say he wasn't surpised by Rawk's appearance and or demeanor. He was use to this type of person, he saw a lot of it during his career.

Rejan stood up at attention. "First Lieutenant Rejan Gordinier. The lux land and star navigation. As well as part time security, paper work and landing parties mostly." The fox then continued "Veteran of the Pan Am war, after that I served on various military ships hunting pirates until the Lux had an open slot for a officer."

For an Atoka, Rejan lacked the typical musical or poetic style of his kind. Atokians called him blunt and crude but this was something that you had to be from Atoka to really appreciate the difference.

Kaiden knew it would be his turn next to answer, as he waited eagerly for his turn. Once the commanding officer looked over at him, he stood up and assumed with usual official stance, with his hands behind his back and his chin a little up.

"Security Officer Kaiden R'Vani, previously Sergeant of the thirteenth police company of the Al'ghareed sector in Henta. Ready to prove myself, sir!" He almost barked out in a confident, soldier-like manner that was expected of someone from those regions of space. His eyes did not look at the commanding officer, but at the distance ahead, which was a usual way of a Henta officer to avoid unneeded aggression from a higher ranked superior.

Rawk stared at the people gathered in the room. Beyond initial reactions, the group seemed somewhat focused, and there certainly were some useful individuals present. This could ve made into a good team.

While people were still introducing themselves, Rawk had already moved on in his mind. Next up was to make sense of the staff divisions onboard Lux. Immediatly after the last person had ended his introduction, Rawk spole again. Calmly, but with a loud voice.

"All right. Thats it then, most of the security officers are present. You are all most likely team leaders or NCO's, and therefore under the ships own rank-system. This means that you have authority over regular patrol units. I am your superior as a lieutenant, but mine is a military rank. My rank onboard Lux is 'tactical advisor' whatever the hell that means. But it is equal to a shipboard lieutenant. Confused? Good."

After this he once again looked around in the room, to see some faces with understanding looks, and some with utter confusion. This was luckily the only time he would have to explain bureucracy.

Next up would be to ask for notifications.

"As this is a staff meeting, our first order of priority is to get things working properly on this ship. Therefore I will now ask of you, has anyone noticed any faults in the ships ordering and organization? Any ideas on what could be improved? Free word to express your own concerns and questions while you're at it."

Ah how Rawk loathed this type of work. Just endless bantering and talking. No action what-so-ever. Tedious was the word he was looking for.

"I have noticed some problems." Rejan said and he leaned in on his elbows, his finger woven together. "While I have not got the chance to see what everyone is capable of, I have noticed the navigations crew is pretty green to their job. Most of them are fresh from whatever military collage they got off of and I noticed a similar trend in other positions on the bridge."

"What I am suggesting is a practice drill for the security units of a mock boarding party. I'm currently in the paper work phase for trying to get the entire ship to do just this but this does not mean we cant arrive a smaller ."

Kaiden perked up his ears at the mention of a drill, and one to do of a boarding party. He immediately then nodded to the idea, as he stood up to address the rest of the meeting. He never experienced such a scenario, since he mostly worked on the surface of a planet, and he was more than willing to try the idea out in a safe environment.

"I agree with the First Lieutenant, we are in the middle of space, and there won't always be someone to protect us from a hostile ship. If we were to be boarded, we need to have everyone know what to do, when and how." He said, as he poked a place on the table with his finger repeatedly.

"I suggest we have the more battle-experienced security officers put on protective suits and act out as 'the invaders' of the scenario. We need to make sure the whole scenario will be safe for our passengers and staff however, we don't want someone pulling out their gun and shooting an officer during it." He said, hoping to raise an important issue.

Mishka nodded along with some of the other officers in the room, trying to appear confident. He wholeheartedly agreed with the idea, don't get him wrong, but never in his life had be experienced something like this. He'd never been apart of an organized group such as this and wasn't used to protocols and procedures. And with that thought in his mind, he chose to keep his mouth shut for fear of seeming like an imbecile to his superiors.
