There's no real law page (yet at least. Thanks for mentioning this, we should have one at least to give wide idea of it).
But what I've understood is that there's not so strict law on LUX. Naturally, if you break or damage something, you will pay for it. Anything small or similar are usually handled by the sector's local enforcement teams and their commanding officers (so instead of a trial for theft, the officer has basicly a direct saying how the violator will be punished. Any possible complains will take the case to higher rank).
Most common ways of punishement are cutting down person's credit income, make them do civilian work, possible loss of their current job, fines and/or confiscating possible illegal goods. In case these people protest or resist the arresting or anything to it, enforcers are allowed only to use stunning/disarming weapons and only in case of self-defence.
Isolation and cells are usually used only in case of sudden violence outbreaks, and in most minor cases will only be for few days.
In case of larger (ie. rape, murder, kidnapping with intent of blackmailing) or continous (ie. harrassing or multiple assaults) crimes the person will most definetely be locked in an isolation cell and hold in until LUX passes the person's home planet, where they drop him for law to handle. If such person resists arrest, enforcers are allowed to use lethal force to stop him.
What law enforcement units on LUX mostly do is to prevent anything from happening, and telling civilians/other crew if they are doing something wrong. So, they tell you if you are littering by accident (but don't usually write fines immediately), break any possible brawls, try to help in case of disputes or misunderstandings and in general take care nothing bad happens. Usually this means taking the initiative, like stopping a person by making your existence knowledged (most people don't want to start a fight when riot-controlling gear carrying enforcer is nearby).
These are only my answers, though, and you shouldn't take them for granted until some other moderator/admin/higher person agrees with them.
