I'll try to answer to my games today real quick! Sorry I've been a bit inactive, but out internet keeps crashing for some reason and rebooting hasn't always helped. Tech support is incoming, so I should eb able to resume normal speed (min.1 reply/week, though probably a lot more than that).

Yeah, it is.
Specially if you're making three-finger mittens for yourself.

I don't think I could handle wearing mittens like that, my hands would feel so weird. o.o

I love mittens like that. I used to have ones years ago, and now I decided to make another pair.

The last project I worked on was only 2 weeks ago and it was a pair of flat bunnies. I got bored waiting around for my fiance to get off work and just knit myself the little cuties.

Dude, no way. It was required for you in school? I WISH my school had that as a requirement. XD

Re: General chit chat
Yeah, it's a sexist thing. In about every finnish school, girls have to study handyworks like knitting and using a sewing machine, while guys have to learn how to make woodworks. Personally I'd wanted to learn how to sew, but they didn't let me.
And MB, for the record I'm a lefty as well and I learned knitting in... 20 minutes?
It's so nice when you have a relative who teaches handyworks as a techer.

Aww, that takes some of the fun out of it. I took a wood shop class back in 8th grade though, plus used wood working in a huge art project in my last year of high school.

Re: General chit chat
Yeah, they teach you wood/handyworks as required subject from 3rd to 6th grade (9-12 years old), and in some places you can continue to study it as an optional through 7th to 9th grade.
We were going to do some really nice settings for the act of our final course of theatre works, but our budget was zero and school had no extra wood... Plus our teacher kinda forbid us due to fact that there was no place where to store the settings.

We got to choose in between knitting/sowing/etc and woodworks (I chose knitting because... well, I get jurt by sharp objects real easily) - and nowadays there's an equal amount of each for littler children. By brother's 10 and they have this system... not sure about further classes, though. I guess I'll figure it out when he gets older!
My grandpa tried to teach me once but out personalities don't mesh really well and he lives quite far away so that was that for my studies...

Re: General chit chat
That's a shame, we had a lot of issues like that in our arts department and had to use a lot of left over stuff that had been kept by our art teachers over the years. It was a really neat project though, we had to take a moving trailer and give the inside of it some sort of theme. We ended up going with what we called "It's a Dog Eat Art World" and made the pod look like the inside of a dog's mouth and filled it with toys and artwork we'd done.

Oh, trust me, my old school has like three storage rooms full of clothes and whatnot like that to be used on stage. They even have actual (dulled) rapiers that some guys donated to them few years back, some old war-time jackets, real cougar pelt and pogo sticks.
First day at work, and my superior/boss likes me working there. Yay. ^^

Dang, a real cougar pelt? I feel the need to have one but I'd have almost no use for it. >.>

Well, it's really old and worn out. But people still use it for acting.
