The Old Imperial Bar is a classy kind of bar. The kind that you could eat, have a drink and sit back. The lights were dim and easy on the eyes but not dark, and the stools along the red oak bar where adjustable, accommodating for the smaller kind of people aboard the Lux.

Soft music played in the back ground and a pair of pool tables were in the back, as well as a small arcade and game room was off to the side in an adjusted room, out of sight and out of mind for those who just came for food and drink.

The bartenders and the waiting staff, where dressed in blacked and usually greeted customers with a smile.

The large gorillia who was Okello walked into the Imperial Bar for the first time. "Not too to shabby." The gorillia grinned as he walked up to the bar and took one of the many seats available at the bar.

The tables seemed to be more busy the bar today. Many couples and friends seemed to want to come here for a meal rather then a drink. Okello might just do both to celebrate a hard work days weeks. "A jack daniels on ice, my good sir." He said to the bartender.

The first day with a shift and he was already tired. This was going to be a busy time. Twitcher was walking back toward the living district but for some reason had chosen to go through the entertainment district. He stopped after passing a bar. He took a few steps back. Was that who he thought it was? He turned back and looked into the bar. He recognized the person talking to the bartender. He couldn't remember the name but he was part maintenance crew. He looked shortly at the clock. He had plenty of time, might as well get to know a colleague. He walked carefully into the bar while looking around. Pretty cool place here, I just might return here to eat dinner later. He walked up to the bartender “a beer please.” He turned to his colleague “haven't I seen you before? Aren't you part of the maintenance crew?” he asked hoping it wasn't a too obvious conversation starter.

Okello took his Brandy and was about to down it when a voice talked to him to the side. "Huh? Oh hi there lil fella. I am indeed part of the maintenance crew." he smiled a toothy grin at the rat at his side. He also thought he recognised him, He usually the man to go to if the air ducks needed looking into.

"Come and take a seat." he spoke like a Neanderthal and patted on the bar table. "What brings you to Okello."

Twitcher sat down on the bar chair with a smile and placed his fedora next to him. “Thank you. My shift just ended and stopped here to have a drink. Then I saw a colleague and thought I might as well say hi.” He reached out a paw. “The name is Twitcher and I started today in the maintenance crew.”

"Me too." The gorilla held his hand and shook the little rats. "Nice to meet you Twitcher. The Names Okello. Not that I didn't just say that." he chuckled as he picked up his drink and downed it. "Bartender a beer please. Looks like I got some socializing to do."

As the cat bartender fill him a mug, Okello turn his attention back to the Twitcher. "I must have just missed you when I clocked out." He didn't recall passing any rats today. Then again the lux was a very big ship with lots of people going in and out. "I'm maintenance and a land vehicle repair. Mostly maintenance because of a lack of land going. How long have you been in the business?"

“The last job I had today were more problematic then first thought.” Twitcher took a sip of his own drink, “It didn't help that the problem was located inside a wall and there were no access panel. Let us just say I was forced to clock out later then normal.”
He took his fedora off and placed it next to him. “I have been in business for a few years but I worked freelance before. This is my first steady job.” He took another sip. “What about you? How did you end up here?” He luckily stopped himself before implying that Okello wasn't the type he associated with a mechanic.

"I use to an military police in the Henta armed forces before taking up an engineer course when I got sick of law and order. Moved on to do some free lance work, for pretty much the same pay and half the work." The gorilla sipped his beer before continuing his conversation. "Like you I worked on freelance, then I worked on a luxury yatch for a couple of years. Then I found myself here for a change of pace and my sense of adventure was kicking back in."

"Its been years since I lived on a planet." He never really thought about it that much.

“Really? I have a hard time wrapping my head around living on Lux.” Twitcher took another sip. “But the sense of adventure can I relate to. I came from a big family and most of my siblings travelled to other planets. It was strange to receive letters from them about their jobs on other planets.” Twitcher made a small sweeping gesture to the ship. “This is really the first time I leave Wera.”
He turned back toward Okello “Wait. You have been on a luxery yatch? I have only seen them when they dock. How was it?”

"Lots of snobs." Okello put it simply, "Thankfully I was behind the scenes most of the time and didn't have to deal with them most of the time. The only time I had to deal with rich people was when some electronics where on the fritz's in there rooms or a vending machine that was broken because some rich ass punk kicked it too hard."

"Its a little odd at first if you've never lived on a ship for an extended period of time. Some people cant handle the closeness of it all. You shouldn't have that problem with the Lux thou, it bigger then most civilian ships I've served on."

"I did hear thou were going to be doing some major check up on the ship, make sure we have everything before we reach out into deeper space."

Twitcher took another sip of his beer. “yeah I have heard about it. I just hope there is no problems. Even though...” his voice trailed a bit off as he rummaged in his bag. “of course, I forgot it.” He mumbled to himself. He looked up again. “I found an weird looking connection I found today. It was hidden away, almost like someone didn't want anybody to find it. I didn't have my computer with me so I made a quick sketch.” He rummaged a bit in his bag again before giving up. Aparently I have forgotten it somewhere. Maybe down in my closet?” He looked shortly at the door. “I will find it tomorrow.” He sighed and took another sip of his beer.
“But are we really going into deeper space?” he said with surprise. “I don't really know what I had expected“ he muttered to himself afterward.

"Oh what did it look like?" Okello said as he raised his beer half way to his face. It was always a good thing to keep an eye out for misplaced connection or other equipment. "Should report that sooner then later." But it might have been nothing but somebodies stuff.

"I don't now Deep space is the right word. Now that I heard somebody else say it out loud." He finished his beer and waved for another one. "I don't think anyone is. Where in it for the long run that's for sure. Were are more or less a space colony."

A little late, Kerrfi finally makes her way inside, drying off her hands on a square of cloth before tucking the corner of it into her pants... with a waist like hers keeping those pants snug, that cloth was going nowhere.

Scanning the room for the most recogniseable members of Engineering, she heads towards the Bar, stating "How late am I?" with a sort of open shrug of a gesture. Her outfit is pretty much the same as usual, she didn't even get around to taking off her protective chest-plate, but her hair is well kept, for dreadlocks, and she's gone to the trouble of washing off the worst of the day's dirt as well.

"No, not late at all." Okello smiled warmly to Kerrfi. "Take a seat Kerrfi, where just talking about past adventures. I cant remember if I told you about my past adventure in the Henta military police." He shook his head a little remembering some of the more crazy moments.

Twitcher turned around with a curious expression. He saw a tapir approaching and lifted a paw in a greeting with a smile too. It was clear she was part of the engineering crew, even though he couldn't remember seeing her before. This distracted him shortly from the conversation. Lux is a big ship after all. It is most likely I haven't seen even a fraction of the people on-board. He waited a bit for her to get closer before extending a paw. “I guess we havn't meet before. The names is Twitcher.” He added a slight grin.

Moving to accept the offer for a hand-shake, she looks from one to the other, getting a bit of a relieved smile.

Finally, some respite from all the cats and dogs...

"Kerrfi, Kerrfi Rhodes. Good to finally meet you both on free hours, you'll be a nice change from what I had to put up with so far..." She then pauses a moment, before groaning and rubbing her forehead with a finger and thumb "No, that wasn't right... sorry, I shouldn't be complaining, at least, not yet. I think I need something cold, sparkling and laden with sugar right now." Kerrfi gives a cheeky grin and pats that impressive stomach of hers.

"Now that we've all gotten acquainted." Okello paused to drink his beer. "Sour pusses are pretty surgery and colorful or Vodka in orange juice. I wouldn't call them sparkling but they get the job done if you feel like having an adult suger drink."

"I remember this one time some stupid fool parked a car on the landing strip and a fighter jet landed on it. I'm talking over the radio in my patrol Humvee and I see this jet fly over head and I watch it go, an sandwich this damn car. Sparks opened up like new years day and that was dragged all the way until it stopped."

"I turned the jeep around to catch the last parts of it on the dash cam."

Twitcher took another sip of his beer before shortly reminding himself of his low alcohol tolerance. He turned to Kerrfi. “What do you work with?” he asked casually.

It looks like his colleagues had better stories then I assumed. He thought as he caught Okellos story. “Did he survive it?assuming he still was in the car.” Twitcher asked with a slightly worried expression. “and do you still have the recording?” he asked after a pause. Well this is going to be interesting.

Kerrfi orders the 'Sour Puss' on Okello's recommendation, before looking to the rodent nearby with a broad smile, the front of it hidden by her trunk. She may be forcing it a little, but she wants to make a good impression on the little guy. "I do Maintenance, mostly. I was a Maintenance worker on a Starport back on Illis for a long time. Naturally, something with hooves and no gills doesn't belong under the churning waves, and I always struggled with the deep-voice thing too."

She turns about-face, resting her rather fat butt on the counter as she looks back to Okello himself "Don't let me interrupt you guys though, carry on." Ironic statement, considering her pudgy figure is right between them both.

"Oh no interruption little lady. And no, there was no one in the car at the time." The large gorilla chucked as he lifted his mug and sipped more of his frothy drink. "At the end of that, it led to an investigation, a heavy fine and I think some jail time. It even made its way to wildest police chases on tv. I so happy it got through." It earned the station a hundred bucks for a round of drinks.

"Oh one sec." Okello said as he pulled out his I pad and brought up the internet video of the incident and show it to his coworkers.

Twitcher took a sip of his beer before looking at the video. “That is a impressive crash. How didn't the pilot see the car?” he Said with a nod. “That is even worse then that time my brothers got hold of the car keys.”

He looked at Kerrfi again tilting his head slightly. “So you are from Illis? How is it there? This is the first time I leave Wera.” He asked curiously.

All the while she's watching the video footage, Kerrfi just tuts and slowly shakes her head. However, she livens up a bit being asked the question.

"I'm probably not the best qualified to tell you about Illis... to me it was a watery purgatory before the rest of my heavenly existance... I'm afraid of deep bodies of water, and the huge creatures that might well lurk inside, so the majority of the planet scared the life outta me." she leans against the counter again, staring off into the middle-distance as she recollects.

"I got by though... I lived on a surface island, the few places they could build space-ports, and when everything below you scares the crap outta you? You look up... up to the sky, and beyond that? The stars. I've been waiting a long time for a job like this, and here I am..."
she pulls a grin "I still manage to complain a lot though, and about the dumbest things..."
